TipLedger vs TipHaus

TipHaus automates tip pooling, syncs with POS systems, gives employees transparency into their tips and offers integrations and payout options. TipLedger has no POS sync: you type in shift totals and it applies the rules you set.

Syncing with a POS can save the time TipLedger asks you to spend on entry. TipLedger may suit a single location that would rather enter numbers than set up an integration, or whose setup doesn’t need one.

When TipHaus may fit better

  • Your POS is supported and you want sales and tip data pulled in without typing it.
  • You want payouts and integrations handled in the same place as pooling.
  • Manual entry each shift would cost your team more time than an integration setup.

When TipLedger may fit better

  • You run one location and are comfortable entering shift figures yourself.
  • You don’t want to connect your POS or payroll to another system.
  • A CSV export for your payroll provider or accountant is all you need at the end.

What TipLedger doesn’t do

Manual entry takes time every shift — products that connect to your POS or time clock can save that work. TipLedger does not run payroll, pay staff, connect to a POS or payroll provider, or calculate or file taxes. You set the tip rules and are responsible for reviewing results and following the laws that apply to you.

Separately, we take inquiries for a paid Payroll Bookkeeping service. It is not included in any plan, has no free trial and can’t be purchased yet. Learn more.
